“A yoga studio which strives to connect you to yourself and to other people; to improve your wellbeing and inspire you to take care of yourself, set within rolling Somerset hills”

What’s on offer at Yoga in the Hills

Are you seeking a moment to reconnect with nature whilst cultivating your balance, strength, and inner calm?

At my studio, nestled in the breathtaking Blackdown Hills of Somerset —I offer small group classes and personalised 1-1 sessions. This tranquil environment is ideal for those new to yoga, as well as those dedicated to deepening their practice or managing injuries. With a variety of yoga styles available throughout the week, you can find the right fit for your wellbeing.

Your first group class is free; allowing you to experience my teaching style, my voice, and the peaceful space that surrounds us here. Yoga is a very personal experience, and my desire is that these classes resonate with your spirit and energise you.

All my classes are designed to be simple yet transformative; with your own intention as the guiding force. Some days you’ll want to relax and stretch deeply and others you’ll be seeking to be re-energised through more challenging movement.

I look forward to sharing my yoga classes with you; in my cosy studio in the Blackdown Hills.

Meet Annabel

A warm welcome from me! I imagine you've found this page because you either already have a love for yoga or are just curious about why so many people are drawn to it.

Let me briefly share what has led me to practice yoga every day and why I am passionate to offer Yoga from my studio in the Blackdown Hills. Back in 2000, I was almost dragged to a class; I never really expected yoga to resonate with my busy, on-the-go personality, but the experience kept bringing me back to mat; it became the perfect way to slow down and re-connect with my body while maintaining the strength and fitness I desired (and need!) to enjoy long walks with my dogs, riding my horses, and generally supporting my active outdoor lifestyle.  On a side note, just before I went to that first yoga class, I was diagnosed with a ‘crumbling’ lumbar spine and hyper mobility; told to stop riding and cycling, in fact all sport!  I knew that would not be good for my mind or body and thankfully found that a commitment to Yoga has been the complete lifesaver.  Strange how fate carves a way if we listen.

My favoured style is Vinyasa, very functional in its detailed approach; every move in every class is for a specific reason - to build strength, suppleness and balance.  We are generally living longer but we want that to be a life where we can carry on doing what we love.

All I encourage you to do is choose the style/tempo of class that resonates with you and join me in my cosy studio. You can enjoy stunning views over the hills, breathe in the fresh air, fill up your cup with positive energy that we reap from flowing with others, and leave with a renewed sense of vitality and a spring in your step.

Complimentary first class

A great way to begin is simply by joining for a group class; yoga is a deeply personal experience, and it’s important that the setting, my voice and my teaching style, all resonate with you.

This is your opportunity to explore and find what feels right for you.
